Walking tours / bespoke island tours
Sue has developed four walking tours.
Towers, Tombs and Trails of the Clos Du Valle
This is a 2 hour walk through the lanes and common in the Clos Du Valle, taking in the story of the Braye Du Valle, the passage graves and dolmens built by the first Guernsey inhabitants, the wars with France and the German Occupation.
A 1.5 hour walk through the beautiful venelles and streets of our town, explaining its long and colourful history, illustrated through the paintings, sketches and photographs produced by Guernsey's own talented 19th Century artists and photographers.
Life and Work in Old Guernsey
A 2.5 hour walk around the coast of beautiful Grande Havre bay and the lanes of the old rural part of the Vale and St Sampson, with a visit to a lookout point over Les Vardes quarry and a visit to a Guernsey farmhouse to see the ancient equipment used in the art of cider making in years gone by. The fourth walk takes you through the beautiful streets and venelles of our town, telling its history from Roman times to the present. It also includes information on the island in general, our government and history.
