I have lived on Guernsey for the last 30 years and recently retired from the role of Diabetes Nurse Consultant.

I trained as a local accredited guide with the guild as a way to maintain contact with the public and to satisfy my interest in local histroy

Walk 1

From Granite to Diamonds. 2.5 hours of easy walking which moves from the bucolic haven of St Sampson and its ancient church, through to the burgeoning 19th century granite industry where life was described as short, brutal and dirty! Now, dominated by the tides, St Sampson’s harbour receives all essential island fuel, and in contrast, houses a small but significant diamond museum.
