About
I have lived in Guernsey since 1997 and during lockdown left the world of banking after 35 years to qualify as a tour guide, I am the manager of La Societe’s Conservation Herd which is a herd of 6 steers and 2 calves which graze the Guernsey grassland to help increase biodiversity. I am president of the Guernsey Petanque Association so if you fancy a game of petanque please let me know. I’m also a bee keeper and am always happy to chat about beekeeping in Guernsey. As well as the tours listed below I am happy to discuss a bespoke tour to suit your interests and times.
Tours
Tour to Tour
A walk from Tour Gand to Tour Beauregard, Tour meaning Tower, this is a walk taking in 5 of the old Boundary stones of medieval St Peter Port via 6 public houses with interest and stopping to note other points of interest along the way including places mentioned from The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Cows and Coast
A trip to see the 6 steers where they are currently grazing which could be the North of the Island or along the west coast. The tour includes my journey from finance to farming and how the herd help increase biodiversity in Guernsey. We also discuss the historical features of the coast area where we graze.
Around Island Tour
A trip around and across the Island over 1 to 4 hours whatever suits you. Explore our country lanes, visiting each of the 10 Guernsey parishes.
Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society Tour
An opportunity to see the sites around the hamlet of La Bouvee, this is the fictional area where many of the book’s characters lived. We walk where Dawsey met Captain Christian Hellman and see the favourite beaches of Elizabeth and Kit.
Petanque and Gache
An opportunity for a group of 4 or more to learn the game of French Boules and have a friendly competition between you. All equipment is provided and this can be played in St Peter Port or St Martins.
