I have lived in Guernsey since 1997 and recently left the world of banking after 35 years to qualify as a tour guide, I have also become the manager of La Societe’s Conservation Herd which is a herd of 6 steers and 2 calves which graze the Guernsey grassland to help increase biodiversity. I am president of the Guernsey Petanque Association so if you fancy a game of petanque please let me know. I’m also a bee keeper and am always happy to chat about beekeeping in Guernsey.
A walk from Tour Gand to Tour Beauregard, Tour meaning Tower, this is a walk taking in 5 of the old Boundary stones of medieval St Peter Port via 6 public houses with interest and stopping to note other points of interest along the way.
This is currently work in progress but will be a trip to see the 6 steers where they are currently grazing which could be the North of the Island or along the west coast and also to see the 2 calves born on valentines day 2021 who are currently grazing in a separate location. The walk includes my journey from finance to farming and how the herd help increase biodiversity in Guernsey.
